Capstone night, an evening filled with panic shaped by pride, was the highlight of the year for some and others, the bridge to their next academic climb. This annual event culminates months of research, experiments, planning, trials, errors, and collaboration that was compressed in a 10–20-minute presentation. Friends, families, teachers and well-wishers sat with poise, narrow gaze, ears focused, minds alert and faces filled with pride as they listen to the different topics and pointers shared. As December 18 approached, excitement for the Winter Formal began building across the school. Conversations about outfits, music, and plans with friends filled the halls, turning ordinary school days into a countdown. For many underclassmen, this was one of the most anticipated school events, a way to kick off winter break and the holiday season. Student Council spent weeks organizing the dance, choosing decorations, organizing music suggestions, and finalizing details. The goal was to create a fun and welcoming space where students could enjoy themselves, while still raising money for future events such as prom. In August 2025, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill made legal history when she filed a sweeping child-protection lawsuit against Roblox Corporation, the Silicon Valley company behind one of the world’s most popular online gaming platforms for children and teens. Recent events show that fighting is intense, and diplomatic efforts to end the war are facing major challenges.
