Thanksgiving is right around the corner, a holiday when the entire family comes together! Almost everyone can agree that they have a favorite Thanksgiving food. Whether turkey or mashed potatoes, we found out what Thanksgiving foods are students’ favorite on Fairchild Wheeler Campus.

According to History.com, the first Thanksgiving took place in 1621. About 50 colonists gathered together to celebrate their harvest, eating foods we don’t usually see at the table today. Over time, the Thanksgiving table has changed from having deer and mussels to having pumpkin pie and Pasta Alfredo; these changes driven by our country’s diversity.

We created a survey to find out what Fairchild Wheeler students’ favorite Thanksgiving dishes are. Twenty-eight students were surveyed, and we found that the top three favorite foods are: Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and turkey!

There was also an option to write in additional dishes/foods. Students wrote in that some of their other favorite Thanksgiving foods are: cranberry sauce, ground beef, torta de camarón, and ham.
